Enjoy the Gorgeous Contrast Between Sakura Cherry Blossoms and Rapeseed Flowers Along a Picturesque River!

This event gives you the chance to enjoy the Kawazu sakura cherry trees and rapeseed flowers blooming along the Memedagawa River in Tahara-City. The stores and streets in Fukue (which extend along the river) are decorated with hanging ornaments based on the Hina Dolls Festival Day called "tsurushi bina" that children from local nursery schools make by hand. There are also lots of stalls and events to enjoy on Saturdays and Sundays while walking along the river.

ACCESS

Access by public transport

From Toyohashi Station (reachable from Nagoya Station using either JR Tokaido Main Line or Meitetsu Nagoya Line, or the JR Tokaido Shinkansen), take the Toyotetsu Bus Irago Main Line (伊良湖本線 Irago Honsen) bound to Cape Irago (伊良湖岬 Irago Misaki), get off at the Atsumi Shop (渥美ショップ前 Atsumi Shoppu-mae, approx. 60 min. ride) and walk westwards 3 min.
This bus also stops at Mikawa Tahara Station of the Toyotetsu Atsumi Line (30 min. train ride from Shin-Toyohashi Station), in which case the bus ride is shortened to about 30 min.
Access by car

Approx. 1 hour 10 min. southwestwards from Toyokawa I.C. of the Tomei Expressway, by Routes 151, 247, 23, 2 and 259.
