Chita-City New Year's Owari Manzai Comedy Performance

Every year, three varieties of traditional and national important intangible folk cultural property Owari Manzai comedy—Kadozuke Manzai, Sankyoku Manzai, and Goten Manzai—are performed at Owari Hachiman Jinja Shrine as an offering to the shrine on New Year's Day. Owari Manzai began in the Yawata, or Teramoto, area, where the shrine is located, and was designated a national important intangible folk cultural property in 1996.
The performances bring happiness to those visiting the shrine on New Year's Day and is an auspicious event to watch.
