A shrine that tells the present about the Inuyama legend of Momotaro.

Momotaro is a fairy tale all Japanese people have had read to them at one time or another when a child. Momotaro Jinja Shrine is connected with the Inuyama City legend of Momotaro, and besides its peach-shaped torii (a rarity in Japan - "momo" means "peach" in Japanese), there is also a washing rock supposedly used by the old woman in the legend, concrete statues recreating the legend and more.

Access by public transport

From Meitetsu Inuyama-Yuen Station of the Meitetsu Inuyama Line (board from either Meitetsu Nagoya Station or from Inuyama Station), either take a taxi cab or walk 35min (2.6km) northeastwards via Route 185.
Access by car

•Approx. 20min northwestwards from Komakihigashi I.C. of the Chuo Expressway via routes 49, 461, and 185, or;
•Approx. 35min northwards from either Komaki-kita Exit of the Nagoya Expressway R11 Komaki Route, or Komaki I.C. of the Meishin Expressway / Tomei Expressway via routes 41, 27, and 185.
