Date : 08/19/2023, 08/20/2023

  • Amagoi Festival

The Amagoi Festival is held annually in the city of Toyokawa, where devotees pray for rain ("amagoi" in Japanese), and takes place amid the streets of the Akasaka area. The festival began when a drought occurred during the Edo period, and after praying for rain, residents are said to have experienced a downpour.

Enjoy watching elaborate parade floats and portable shrines as well as a parade with young men dressing up in spectacular Kabuki costumes, such as warriors, prominent geisha figures, and beautiful young women.
