Japan’s manufacturing industry has long been the envy of other nations. One of the greatest success stories would have to be that of the Toyota Group, which began life as a textiles manufacturer. Group founder Sakichi Toyoda devoted his life to developing looms that would make Japan a world leader in textiles manufacturing. His eldest son, Kiichiro, then adapted the machinery and technology to commence building motor vehicles, giving birth to the Toyota Motor Corporation.
