With as Many as Four Little-Known BBQ Spots
In the southeast part of this prefectural natural park is the spacious and picturesque Kuragari Gorge (Kuragari Keikoku). All along the gorge are areas for bungalows, tents, and cottages as well as places for day-trip BBQs, trout fishing, and catching trout with your hands. In the summer, recommended activities include playing in the mountain stream, the therapeutic practice of spending time in a forest also known as forest bathing, and hiking. From the summit of Mt. Hongu, it is possible to get a sweeping view of Japan’s Southern Alps and Mikawa Bay.
*: Since Kuragari Gorge is within a prefectural natural park, BBQ or fishing are only allowed at designated places. (Reservations required)
